So Logan's biggest birthday present this year was his big boy bed. We were blessed to be able to pick it up on his birthday. Grammie, Papa and Aunt Meagan were so wonderful to put it together so he could sleep on it for his birthday. Somehow we were able to keep Logan out of his room until late into the evening, after dinner, after presents, after cake. Nathan was already in bed. I ran into the room just before Logan. He had such a huge smile on his face when he saw it. He ran back in the living room to get his pillow and he knew just where to put it. He was running around, getting on and off the bed. He got to jump on it once. He has done pretty good. The first he woke up because he fell off. The second night he woke up and when I got into his room he was somehow in his toy box, or at least his head was in the toy box and his feet were on the floor. The third night I heard him through the monitor so clearly. I got to his room and could not find him anywhere when I walked in. Then I looked over and he was standing right in front of the shelf where his monitor sits. The next few nights I got a nice bedside wake up as he had walked across the house with blanket and or pillow in hand hoping to get in bed with us between 3 and 5 am. That left Mommy sleeping on his floor for a few hours. After that we turned his bed along the wall, turned on his CD player to play the ocean on repeat all night and he has stayed in bed ever since. Well.. actually we turned his door handle around so that it would lock from the outside. The first night when he could not open the door I went in and feel right back asleep and did not wake back up. The second night he woke up and was back asleep before I could get to his room. After that he just stayed in his bed until I came in or until he saw the light on in the living room (I always unlocked the door before I turn the lights on). And he has not tried to get up since. Thank goodness. He is a really good sleeper again. And he loves his bed.
