The Catos: Surprise for Papa

So Memorial Day weekend Justin, Meagan and Kristen planned a surprise retirement party for Papa. Well part of the surprise was that Kristen and her 4 kids were coming up. So quickly preparations were made. Kristen and the kids came up to our house on Friday and stayed with us that night. We missed Jacques, but he had to stay home to work. :( We had a lot of fun getting food ready for the next day and playing. Justin and I could not believe how big our nieces and nephews had gotten. Saturday morning we all piled in our cars to head to Grammie and Papas for the rest of the weekend. Well Papa had been doing work in his yard, so Justin and I and the boys headed into the house first. We said we wanted to surprise them and see the new yard. So while we were out back looking at the new yard and patio furniture Kristen and the kids drove up and came around back. The look on Papa's face was priceless. It was a true surprise when he turned around and saw his daughter and 4 grand kids. So we were all talking and the kids were playing. Kristen and I slipped in the house to get the food ready for the party. We had Papa go in to take a shower for lunch. When he came out the house was full of family and friends ready to celebrate him. He had tears. So sweet. Well we had a fun time hanging out with everyone. Then we all kids and grand kids stayed at Grammie and Papa's house. It was PACKED!!! Then Sunday Kristen's kids took turns being sick all day. So that was no fun having to keep everyone separated and kept us from getting good pictures of all the grand kids together. We'll plan another trip soon. It was a fun and exciting few days. It passed too quickly. Hopefully we can get the Leotaud clan to make one more trip up this summer so we have a little more time together.
